(MAC) unknown error the sims 3

HI

Hi I tried to open my new the sims 3 game, I´ve installed it and everything seemed to be ok until I tried to run it for the first time. It seems to be an unknown error and it won´t open at all. I´ve tried to unistalled it and delete everything that says the sims on my mac, and reinstall it, but nothing changes.
I bought the game this evening at thesims3.com and downloaded it to my mac.

I have a macbook pro OS X verson 10.9.4 snow leopard

I´ve already tried these steps:

1. Open the "Spotlight" by clicking on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the desktop.
2. Type "Disk Utility" into the text field that appears.
3. Click on "Disk Utility" when it appears. This will open a new window.
4. Choose the Macintosh HD from the list of devices that will appear in the left margin of the new window.
5. Click on "Verify Disk Permissions".
6. After verifying permissions, click on "Repair Disk Permissions".
(Verifying and Repairing Disk Permissions may take up to 30 minutes.)
7. Run your game again after repairing disk permissions.

But still no change..

Please help.

    Hi

Is it just the base game that you are trying to install or expansion packs as well? I assume you are using Origin? Is the game patched up to date? How much RAM does your Macbook have?
