[MAC] Why am I having trouble downloading, installing, or launching Island Paradise on Mac?

• Are you opted into the Origin Beta? Yes/No: Yes
• OS X version:   10.8.4
• Processor, Memory and Graphics card information: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
• Expansions you have/have active: All of them
• Any error message received: No message received
• A detailed description of what is occurring: I bought The Sims 3 Island Paradises a little while ago off of Origin, waited forever for it to download, then I installed it, entering the serial number and all. I click the Island Paradise icon to launch the game and the Seasons icon pops up in the dock, so I go ahead and click play and the game load, NO island paradise load screen. It's like I didn't even buy the game. The game loads, I click new game and nothing even resembling island paradise shows up. I would just like to play this game like NOW since I just spent $40 on it and waited about an hour for it to load!
• A detailed description of any troubleshooting you have already attempted: I restarted the computer, re-opened origin and tried to re-launch island paradise but nothing happened.
