Memory could not be written error code

This error pops up everytime I click play from the launcher, have installed reinstalled twice and restarted my pc multiple times. It never used to do this when I used to play ts3.

  • lostfawnn  Have you added anything to the game: regular mods, mods that go in the game's program files, ReShade, etc.?  If so, please list it.

Please also check your antivirus for any recent actions involving TS3.exe, Sims3Launcher.exe, or EADesktop.exe.  If you see anything, set the required exception/exclusion.  Sometimes memory errors are actually caused by an antivirus blocking the program in question.

No mods are installed, and anti-virus has not done any actions against the programs

  • lostfawnn  Then please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • lostfawnn  I don't see anything obviously problematic in your dxdiag.  But it doesn't contain any Windows error reports, which is odd—even a fresh install of Windows will likely have one or two.  Do you use some kind of cleaner app that deletes temp files?  If so, please disable it while troubleshooting.  I may want to see crash-related info, and these apps can also delete files the game needs in order to run.

For now, please temporarily disable your antivirus entirely, all features, and repair the game in the EA App (Sims 3 > Manage > Repair), again if you have already.  Then try to play.  If it doesn't work, restart your computer and repeat the test but while offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

If that doesn't help either, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Click Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the most recent time you tried to open Sims 3.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
