My Expansion and Stuff isn't showing up!

Good afternoon everyone!

I've been having a bit of an issue with my Sims 3 game. This has been going on for the past 3 months now and I've even tried reaching out to EA and see if their tech support can help. Anyways, I go to launch my Sims 3 game and all of a sudden, none of my expansion packs or stuff have been showing up in the "Expansion & Stuff" tab. I have all the expansion packs, but for whatever reason, its not showing up. When you click on "Install Packs" like you're supposed to if you don't see any of your expansion packs, it doesn't do anything. All it will do is relaunch the EA app and that thing is telling me that it's been downloaded. Before when we used to have Origin, when you clicked on it, you'd see the expansion pack and you could easily put the expansion packs on the game, but we all know they did away with Origin and pulled the plug on it a few years ago.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and the EA app, clearing the cache for the EA app, running that repair, checking for updates for both the game and app, logging in and out, changing my password, etc. I also checked if my account was suspended or blocked and my activation codes are good. I even tried having me run the file as administrator and that wouldn't work. I even tried using the CC Cleaner thing too.  None of them seem to work and my game still won't recognize my expansion packs and stuff. It's still blank. My computer is a PC and it meets all of the system requirements too to run it. Can someone please help fix it? I even have a screen shot of the blank tab I keep seeing when I launch it and to show you guys what it says. It's taken me 3 months to fix it because I've been working 60-80 hours a week and had to try to fix it on the few days I did have off.

I realize you've done regular uninstalls, and used CCleaner, but it's worth being as thorough as possible here.  Revo should be able to find everything game-related, including all registry entries, so you can start fresh.  And please do install the game to a new location, a new folder you create for just this purpose and that's on the root folder of whichever drive you use.

If you're running a third-party antivirus, or some kind of cleaner app that works in real time, please disable it while reinstalling Sims 3, and don't reenable it until you've tested the game once.  As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe even with the AV disabled.

  • Hey winters512 ... Sorry you are having troubles ... Does the EA App list your Expansions (as add-ons) in your Library under Installed Games? If so, when your click to view the add-ons ... Does it show the Expansions as 'Downloaded', or does it still have the Download options?

Yeah ... Sims 3 Base Game has to be downloaded for you to open the Launcher ... I was asking about the Expansions. I had to download/install them individually the last time I re-installed my game.

The base game is installed. It won’t even let you play it without it. I’m about to try again reinstalling it. I’m going to try to do it one by one like you mentioned. I’m going to try it in the morning tomorrow. I had picked up the night shift at my job. I’m going to see if that works in the morning. I wish they never got rid of Origin. Once they switched to the EA app, Sims 3 hasn’t been working right.
