My game randomly crashes to desktop after a couple sim weeks

I've been getting persistent crashing, it'll crash on my saved file within 5-15 minutes of playing. The only way I've been able to play consistently is for about 3-4 hours at the beginning of a brand new save. Once the game goes into a few sim weeks, it'll crash consistently.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot the problem?

Here are my error log files:

  • @eqpofr  I take it you're the same person who posted on the NRaas site?  Chain_Reaction said this was a crash from the graphics shader engine, and he would know.  But it may or may not be directly related to your iGPU.  Do you use any custom content at all, or have you made any changes to how graphics work in the game, for example using Reshade or a shadow extender or another HQ mod?  If you've done any of this at all, please remove the files and repair the game: open your Steam library, right-click the Sims 3 tile, and select Properties > Local files > Verify integrity of the game files.

Otherwise, what season is it when the game crashes?  Rain, snow, and sleet are much harder on the graphics engine than sunny or cloudy days.  A new save would start in summer by default, meaning that a few sim-weeks in, you'd likely be seeing inclement weather.

If you want to test whether this might be the problem, you can bring up the cheats console (ctrl-shift-C) and enter testingcheatsenabeld true , then shift-click the ground and select Seasons and then the season and weather you want.  If changing back to sun with no snow on the ground helps, and then adding back snow (or triggering rain or sleet) causes another crash, you'll have found the issue.

Yes I'm the same person, thank you so much for your input! Your suggestions helped the most, you were spot on about the weather. I tested a lot of different conditions but in the end I just turned my lighting settings to the lowest, and completely got rid of weather conditions as well as the seasons Winter and Fall. My game is no longer crashing anymore! Thank you so much, I wouldn't have been able to play the game without you
