I've just installed the game - it opens fine and runs...
however the screen sits too far far left and down in full screen mode, leaving the top-right corner black.
I cannot get to the options "..." button to rectify this, and the launcher has literally no options tab (from what i could find).
How can i rectify this?
close your game ok we can try to do this manually close the game then go to the electronics arts/thesims 3 there is a file named options(.ini) open that search for the resolution that is in that file then find where it says resolution , resolution for example my resolution = 1280 1024 60 (the 60 is my refresh rate ) where it says resolution type in your screen resolution and the refresh rate make sure to have the spaces too inbetween the letters etc then close the document it will ask you if you want to save the changes say yes (for good mesaure restart the computer ) launch your game and see how it is ) although having the refresh rate at default is fine so that would be 0
so for example if your screen resoloution is 980 860 and the refreshrate is 75 you need to do this 980 860 75
edit to add you may have to ctrl+alt+del to bring up taskmanager to end your game before changeing the file
edit edit if you hit F5 while in game you be able to bring up the options menu
