My sim keeps reseting after talking to another sim

Well, i've just had my laptop wiped, with a back-up folder, so that my sims game is saved. I reinstalled it all back so i have my game back, however, i lost a disc, or my brother lost it.. so a lot of things had to be replaced which isn't great.. Even though this is not related, if anyone does know if i install my ep again, would it automatically change back? Anyway, basically, i had to copy and paste a lot of information into the Sims 3 folder, under Documents>Electronic arts>Sims 3. Adding things such as mods, however i don't think some worked.. anyway, it seems that it may of effected the gameplay or it just glitched that way? What happens is, if my sim talks to another sim, the interaction happens, then once it ends, the sims reset E.g. If my sim did a romantic interaction and he is stepping towards the other sim in a romatic way (like they do) suddenly, they stand back to normal as if they didn't talk and the chat bar is not in the top left.. Please help with this glitch because my sims were about to make a baby then they reset :/
