My Sims 3 New Game does not let me create a sim

Question

I have been playing for a month and one day I got tired of the household that I was playing( I currently am playing on a Windows 8 and this is the one of two problems I have been running into. I have fixed the other one but can not seem to fix this one.) I went to new game and then create a sim and it stayed on the loading screen, I then have to restart my laptop. It plays the music also but it never actually loads. How do I fix this?

The same problem happens to me, I create the sim and all that but when I submit it, it stays loading and yes, I do have some mods installed
