My Sims won't do anything, and house is acting weird.

I've been having some seriously annoying issues with my Sims game lately - I built this house (which is actually pretty big, but I didn't think it would be a problem), and ever since I started playing my Sims are acting weird - first one of them went into the basement, and disappeared. I got her back with the resetsim cheat, and took care of that glitch by installing an elevator and deleting the stairs.

Now two other Sims are in the kitchen, and won't move. The thing is, when I click on their icon to find them, it doesn't show the floor, the kitchen, etc; it shows the foundations, and it looks like the Sims are floating on the ground. When I make them do any kind of thing, they yell because they can't move, and won't do anything.

Sometimes a comic balloon shows up on their heads, and a small rose bush is displayed - the same bush that I've put around the whole house.

How can I try and resolve this? I don't want to build the house again, I've put too much effort in it!

I can post pictures if needed. Thank you, and sorry for my bad English!

  • Try removing the bush from around the house to see if that gets rid of the issue. It does sound like there's something not right with the house.

Is the foundation closed all around ?

I removed the bush, but they still won't do anything.
Now there are just the foundations, and the stairs (of course there's still the house built on the foundations, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it, I built it the same way I built all the others and they all work fine).

I found someone who had the same problem, and they resolved it with an update, but I updated my game lately :S

I'm not really a builder so not sure if I can help you with this.

Did you try posting in the official forum at thesims3.com ? Either tech forum or the creative corner would probably be best.

You could also try moving your Sims to a different house just to see if they behave differently in another house. (you don't need to save or save under a different name). This will give you an indication if it's the house that is at fault or if something is wrong with the Sim/savegame.

I haven't tried moving them yet, but they seem to act normal outside of the house - anyway I'll try that as soon as I get home.
I haven't posted on the official forum yet, I actually haven't thought about that, I'll do that tonight, thanks!

You could try going into build/buy mode and opening the cheat bar (Ctrl+Shift+C) and then typing in 'moveobjects on' without the apostophy things ('). Then you can click on your sim, move it around and place it somewhere else.

    Hope I could help 🙂
