My skills wont improve and my lifetime happiness doesnt increase during gameplay

Question

About a week ago, I purchased university life and Pets online through EA and origin.

The games worked fine with my already existing base game and generations.

But now a week after use, My game has had some serious issues.

My sims wont increase in skills. it changes with each skill. I couldnt get my female sim to get past level 2 of street art and my male sim cant learn the riding skill.

So I reset my sims. nothing changed.

I deleted that game and made new sims because i was so angry and now, they are recieving lifetime happiness points during the day like they are suppose to. well mainly my female sim.

I wonder if it because of the fact that its a game without disc since i purchased the downloadable game. I'm extremely frustrated and angry because I spent 50 on the games. can anyone help me?

i had something like that happen with a sim for cooking she had gone to cooking class the skill didn't appear so i just had her read a skill cooking book the skill kicked in have your sim buy the books,read them see if the skill increases&nbsp;&nbsp;see if that works first for you

I sent her to class and had her read. still nothing.

do you use mods ? they may need updateing to your game patch level

edit to add also try clearing the cache files

delete the cach files go to electronic arts/the sims 3/

•CasPartCache.package

•compositorCache.package

•scriptCache.package •

simCompositorCache.package

•socialCache.package.package

it's safe to delete these files as a new ones will regenerate
