My University roommates have come home with me.

Whilst at unversity, i rented a home and had roommates living with me. Having finished the semester, I came back to my home neighbourhood and the roommates have followed me. They are listed as members of my household, but i am unable to control them as everytime i cick on them to play as them nothing happens. I click on them as my character but there is no option to dismiss them, and roommate services are disabled. I cannot even kick them out through the move funtion... Is there any other way I can remove them from my household?
