@Leliel2000 It's possible that a third-party antivirus could cause this issue, so if you have one, try disabling it while you reinstall .NET 3.5. As long as you don't open anything else while the antivirus is disabled, your computer should be safe.
If this doesn't help, or you don't use a third-party program, let me know.
I don't have any third-party antivirus that would stop it

@Leliel2000 Please open Windows Settings, then select System > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters. Click "Most frequent," then choose Windows Update > Run. Let me know if you get any errors; otherwise, restart your computer and try to reinstall .NET 3.5 again.
If that doesn't help, please try a repair install:

You don't need a USB stick or DVD; you can just create an ISO, as described in the link in that guide. This process preserves your personal data, but if you get to step 14 and are NOT asked what files you want to keep, back out and start over.

@puzzlezaddictIt states that it has registered a problem and it wants me to fix it with WaaSMedicService and I know I don't have that in my regedit and some other info my windows 11 is a dual-boot. I don't know if it has something to do with that

@Leliel2000 WaasMedicService is a part of Windows, so it should definitely be present in some form. Having a dual-boot setup doesn't change that—Windows is still installed as normal on this partition. What do you mean that you don't have the service? Regedit is the Registry Editor, an application used to manually edit the computer's registry, as in, it's exposing the registry to the user.

When I go into Registry Editor i can't see it, it's not there. I have also attached a photo

@Leliel2000 Just to be totally clear, did you see this error when running the troubleshooter or trying a repair install? If this happened while running the troubleshooter, did you try a repair install anyway, and how did that go?

When I run the troubleshooter it's said that it registered a problem with windows updates and to solve it with WaasMedicService but I know I don't have that.
- Checking for problems with Windows updates
- Detects problems related to windows update.
- Fix problem with Windows update
- Fix common problems with windows update
- WaasMedicService
- Problems remedied by: Dynamic Protection Plugin
As In the picture.

"WaasMedicService" is a service that is part of Windows since Windows 10. It is without a doubt on your system as well.
The purpose of "WaasMedicService" is to repair Windows Update components.
And from the look of your screenshot it did exactly that.
Look if Windows updates is functionally now. (New updates should get installed now.)
- Leliel20003 years agoSeasoned Novice@holger1405 So I finally got it working, after I restarted my whole computer for the bottom (keept my files)
