Network Error - Connection To the Server has Been Lost

How many times am I seeing this message???  Loads!!!  Anyone else???  Well, I had just downloaded a couple of expansions and it was all fine.  Started fine and was eager to play.  However I have a visitor, so as I am polite I logged off!! 

Visitor left, went to log on, and what happened??  Yeah you guessed it, the above.  I have tried all the usual things, turning my router off and on etc etc but after many attempts, no not a dicky bird, still cant get on.  Why is this happening??  I am not very technologically minded so please don't blind me with science, I just seem to get this on a number of occasions and I have no idea why.  On some I come on here to find that others have the same problems which is a relief in one way, however, having paid a fortune on Sims bits and bobs, its just not good enough!!!!!

What is going on and is anyone else having the same probs???

    I can yes, but you dont get the badges etc, mind you, that doesnt make a whole lot of difference!!!!  Anyway, eventually, the server came back on and I was able to play online so for this time its sorted.  

    I just get really annoyed when it does happen and in this case panicking cos I had just downloaded a load of stuff!!!  So, problem solved, I guess I will have to play offline when it happens again!!!!!

    If you're internet is working find otherwise and it's only temporary, it's most likely a server issue on EA's side and you can only wait it out.

    Had to put this as an edit as I didnt see the message before.  Yes, I guess it is an EA issue, but having to wait it out, hmmmmm not good especially if its not something that they feel is important enough for us to be notified about.  I have paid plenty of real  money to get these games, surely if for a reason on their part, I cant play online, we should be informed about it.  The following is the message I was sending b4 I saw the message prior to this!!!!

    Once again I try to get on to play online and once again its saying the connection to the server has been lost.  What on earth is going on????  

    If its a case of you doing something to the site well surely it would be polite to inform us on the launcher, however no, this isnt happenening and to be honest I dont think that this is the case, but something is causing it and to be honest its doing my head in.  

    Yes I can play offline, fair enough but I like to play online, so can anyone provide me with an explanation before I totally implode!!!!!

    Ah well, I think its just something I will just have to deal with.  I am not very technical minded, and play Sims, just purely straight off the cuff.  I would love to build my own house for my Sim, but dont have a clue how to start other than buy a lot LOL,  Can u point me to how I can find out how to do it???  Total change of subject, but thought I would ask.

    im having the same problem,

    my internet connection is fine but it keeps saying connection to server is lost.

    im already logged in on the launcher though.

    can someone please tell me what is going on.

    @vampiremich this issue has apparently been resolved. Are you still experiencing this issue?
