new EA app uninstalled Origin
Last night I played and saved The Sims 3 with NO problem. I have Ambitions ,Late Night , Showtime , and Seasons extension packs also. After I closed Origin, prompted me to download the new EA app...

@puzzlezaddict This is my second post.I was able to play TS3 finally through the EA app for the last 2 weeks up until 2 days ago. I no longer have Origin installed, and now the EA app won't load anymore. It kept saying it was connecting to EA, and then jumps back to desktop. I gave up and uninstalled the EA app last night. I truly need help with this app again, & do I still need Origin installed anyway? HELP PLEASE😪

Did you try running the EA app as an administrator, and running a clean boot on your PC? We'll want to see if we can get the app running while your PC is in a clean boot state, that way we'll know if there are any applications blocking the app from running.
- @EA_Solaire Thanks for getting back with me. Yes I did all of the above with same EA app issue. Again, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling EA app. After several times it launched my game. Right now it's in the loading stage, and I also noticed my last saved game and some others are missing and not there. So I had to load an old saved game from last month. I just feel I shouldn't have to un/re install the EA app or do a " repair", every time I try to play. Wasn't nearly this much trouble with Origin, and now I can't even get Origin to download. When I had EA app & Origin, it always worked through Origin. And my game would save. Don't know what's going to happen after this loads up. It's just a shame & very stressful. Do I need to at least try to get Origin to download again. I'm at my wits end.🤔😓

@indycutie How many saves do you have? You can take a look by opening Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves. If there are too many, the game may not show all of them at the Main Menu, but the limit can vary widely from one computer to the next. The save folders that end in .backup don't count because the game doesn't load those.
Point is, if there are more than a couple dozen, move the older ones out of that folder, for example to a folder on your desktop. If you see any saves that end in .bad, that means the save process failed and the files inside are unusable, so just delete those. If you see a SaveName.Sims3.bad and a SaveName.Sims3.backup, you may be able to salvage it: delete the folder with the .bad extension, then delete the .backup extension from the other, and the latter should be available to load from the Main Menu. (You can do this even if the main save doesn't end in .bad, but you'll need to rename the backup first, e.g. SaveName1.sims3.)
Not signing into the launcher has nothing to do with the other issues.
- @puzzlezaddict Good day, so today I was able to play the game I saved yesterday. Everything went well. I had about 7 games in " saves". I'm sorry to panic when the EA app doesn't work, but for right now it went good today (trial and error).I'm going to play again later and hopefully it goes well....if not I'll be back again. Crossing fingers!🤔😊
- @puzzlezaddict Looks like I spoke too soon. I went to play this morning and the game launcher loaded with a blue screen. Then wouldn't go any further. I closed out everything, restarted my computer and tried again. Now the EA app isn't working at all. I just was playing last night. I'm at my jumping off point. smhh!! Are they doing anything about this shabby app, because the EA app is terrible. I don't know what to do 😕😔😵
@indycutie Please repeat the same troubleshooting steps that fixed the App the last time. I'm not sure why the App is only working intermittently for you, but it's possible you'll just need to do more active maintenance with the App than most people.
- @puzzlezaddict I repeated some of the steps that I did before, and was able to get the EA app to load. The "play" button was not highlighted, only the one that says "manage". So I click on TS3 desktop icon, and it loaded. However... it said my recent saved games were saved with expansion pack stuff, that is no longer there.. I haven't played since 3-8-23. so I loaded one going back to 2-28-23 and it gave me an error message
Here are the things I encountered trying to play today. Don't know why stuff is not showing up, I have Ambitions, Showtime,Late Night and Seasons...for The Sims 3 Extension Packs All were playing and showing up before.
- @puzzlezaddict Just now tried to play TS3, again. This time the EA app isn't working at all, after half working 2 hours ago, without me not able to play. Help me out please & I'm also seriously considering getting a new computer. Any suggestions (nothing extremely expensive), but it's on my mind🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@indycutie If you start a new save, do your packs load? If not, uncheck them in the launcher's Expansions & Stuff tab and check them off again.
If you'd like a new computer, now or later, I can help with that too. Just let me know your country and budget as well as any other details that matter to you: anything from laptop vs. desktop to screen size (laptop) to how much storage you'd want. But it's best to wait to have that conversation until you're ready to buy. Inventory turns over quickly, and prices change even faster, so the best options now are likely not going to be the best options in a few weeks, let alone a few months.
- @puzzlezaddict Yes, I didn't do that this time, but I usually check the EA app to show my extension packs to make sure they are there. I have even done a repair that goes thru the base Sims game and the extensions on the EA app. Just don't know how they could be showing one minute and gone the next few hours. Once it gets going it plays well, but it's touch & go with whatever the app wants to do. As far as a new desktop computer, I know I need something newer than Windows 7 for other reasons that I have now. Anyway I just need to solve this current issue,because I know it played ok yesterday & for the last couple of weeks. And now again, the EA app won't load at all. I keep having to un/re install or repair EA app. Shouldn't have to do that.Sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not.
So here I am again with the game launcher problems. I have cleared caches, cleared browsing history and everything. Was playing fine until a few days ago and kept getting these on the launcher. Is the EA app not working , or down? or what is the problem. I have this new Windows 11 computer and everything is up to date. My saved games (5-6) won't completey load when I try and it bouces me back to the EA app screen . I NEED HELP AGAIN!!!!..... This is what shows up on the Game Launcher Screen
