Lilia1971 You will need to manually cap the framerates, which you can probably do through the Nvidia Control Panel. (I say probably because some people report the limit doesn't stick.) The CP has a Max Frame Rate setting, which you can apply globally or for TS3.exe (EA App install) or TS3W.exe (disc or Steam install). Let me know if you need further help with this.

The patch is the most convenient and the Task Manager method the most reliable, but all three accomplish the same thing.
Getting your GPU recognized isn't strictly necessary, but if you'd like to do it anyway, I can help with that. Launch the game once, open DeviceConfig.log (in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3), copy the info between Graphics Device Info and Options, and paste it here.
