Hello, I have a Mac Book Pro 2020, 1.7 GHz Quad-Core intel core i7, intel iris plus graphics 645 1536 MB, 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
i have uninstalled and re-installed, I have repaired 100s of times. I have deleted the files told to on multiple forums, I have updated my computer, restarted, changed all the graphics to low, tried it on stream. NOTHING WORKS. this is my favorite game and I have looked everywhere. Can someone please please help me.

taytaylewlew11 What happens when you try to play? Please describe how and when the game stops working, including a screenshot of any error message you see.
It just completely closes, no error message, I’ll get to the load a town screen and that’s when it crashes
taytaylewlew11 Please create a new admin account on your Mac and try playing there. Don't link the account to your Apple ID; you can skip that step. And don't change any graphics settings yet, other than possibly switching to windowed mode if you want. And don't add any content like mods or old saves.
Please repair the game while in the new account (EA App > Sims 3 > Manage > Repair) before launching the game. It's not strictly necessary, but this does restore some hidden files that are necessary for other functions like installing Store content.
What do you mean create a new admin? Like a new user and download origin under a new user? Sorry I’m dumb lol
I am experiencing the same issue. I repaired the game, restarted my computer and removed my mods folder. The launcher just hangs and doesn't start, the icon bounces but the game won't start. I have not uninstalled / reinstalled the game. I am also playing on a MacBook Pro M1, 2020. I last played the game about six months ago and it ran just fine.

So I tried it and this is what is happening; it won’t let me send the video but it’s flickering and won’t let me click anything
So i did something on accident that may have fixed my issue. First of all I got sims 3 to load in another account on my mac. I went into Settings and clicked on my picture and added a new user. Then I went into that account, (a million set up questions, skip on linking Siri, etc) I downloaded the EA app, logged into it with my user name and password and launched Sims 3. It loaded up - so I knew it would work it was a settings issue. I tried to repair it from this account. then i closed this account and went back to my primary account.
In my primary account it still would not load. Then I took my downloads folder from my main Documents/ EA games/ Sims 3 and i put the documents on the desktop. And then I restarted sims 3. and it runs. the game will create a new Downloads folder when it launches. I added my downloads back into that folder. This glitch has something to do with a file in the downloads folder I'm sure.
taytaylewlew11 This is in a new admin user account on your Mac? It looks like there's some kind of overlay getting in the way. What other apps are running at the same time? If you're not sure, click cmd-optn-esc and list everything that shows up. You should only see Sims 3, the EA App, and Finder. You can also use this function to quit the game if necessary. Use the up/down arrow keys to select the app you want to close, and click Return to tell it to force quit.
If you don't have any other apps running, or closing them doesn't help, try putting the game into windowed mode. Clicking cmd-return at the Main Menu should do it. But if not, open Options.ini, inside Documents > Electronic Arts, The Sims 3, click cmd-F (Find), search for fullscreen , and set it to 0 (zero).
