New to Island Paradise - Can't Build Houseboat - No Floor Shows Up

Just bought IP, so maybe it's something I'm doing/not doing right but.....I can get everything ready - can even choose the size of the boat, but when I go to build on it, it shows the area where the ...

    @gwenleah  It looks like the houseboat platform might already have flooring, only showing in low resolution.  But it looks like the problem is that you tried to build on the lot that holds the dock, not the houseboat itself.  The houseboat should have its own icon in Edit Town, one for a blank residential lot rather than the park bench icon for a community lot that would correspond to the lot with the dock.

Thanks Puzzle, I did put a curved hull boat there and it was just the outline too. I thought maybe it was just low resolution but I logged out, logged back in and VIOLA! the floors there, walls can go on, etc. 
I'm surprised how glitchy IP really is. I've noticed many landscape issues. Just glad this fixed itself!
