No new clothes in Sims 3 Ambitions

You can go into the sims foulder documents>electronic arts>sims 3 then look in downloads i think to find stuff that was downloaded from exchange like gifts and things hard to find or write down things when downloading from exchange to find again later when you get what you need out of the foulder leave it be. go to control pannel find uninstall and uninstall everything from latest to oldest after copying your cc or exchange which you can paste in different foulder or on desktop to get later. after unstalling try reinstalling all stuff including base game from oldest to latest.
