***Important Update***
This only applies the people with a Realtek Audio Driver, but I will no longer be recommending downloading the Realtek High Definition Audio Codec Driver directly from the Realtek website. To those of you who have already updated your driver through this method, you have absolutely no reason for concern, the driver is 100% safe and one that I use myself.
I am only changing my advice as everyone's computer experience and confidence when it comes to performing a driver update varies, so I feel it is best at this time to only suggest going through the manufacturer of one's computer for an updated audio driver. I think that this is the best solution for everyone until we see what EA will suggest for the people that are experiencing the no sound bug.
Once again, you are completely fine if you have already updated to the generic audio driver from the Realtek homepage, I am just suggesting a new method that will accommodate users of variable computer skills.
For users of drivers other than Realtek, my advice still stands as I have always recommended that you visit the website of the manufacturer of your computer to see if there are any available updated audio drivers appropriate for your specific configuration.

If you are experiencing the no sound bug, please post a dxdiag report regardless of whether or not you intend to perform an audio driver update. This critical information is very useful to EA and can assist them in determining a possible cause and solution to the issue.
Disclaimer
While I am happy to help you to troubleshoot the 'no sound bug' and offer suggestions of a possible fix, please only try updating your audio driver if you feel completely comfortable and confident in what you are doing. If not, I recommend waiting for a bit as the Showtime EP is only two days into release, and EA will probably have a suggestion/solution for the affected users sometime in the future.
