My sound card drivers are up to date I checked. I think this is a game issue as well because when the sims 3 first came out this problem was with stereos and a patch was released and fixed it.
My stereos by the way are working fine.
Thank you for reminding me about the glitched stereo sound bug that some users experienced near the beginning of The Sims 3 franchise, I had forgotten all about that.
The jukebox no sound bug is quite curious. The karaoke machine bug I understand, it's an object with new interactions and animations for sims. But the jukebox, in essence, is just another stereo. And since this issue was already resolved once, it is quite strange to see it pop up again.
While I agree that the 'no sound bug' is most likely a game issue, I think it is a game issue in the way that the 'no fluff issue' is a game issue. Some people are able to resolve the problem through a driver update, while for others an update is ineffective and they will need to wait on a patch from EA to resolve the manner, and some will not experience the issue at all.
I was hoping between dxdiag reports and people updating their drivers that a pattern would emerge clarifying exactly which drivers and computer configurations could benefit from a driver update to resolve the issue. But with the results being all over the place, and now to have to factor in the sporadic fix that some people are experiencing, I don't think that this is going to be possible. At least the dxdiag reports will be helpful to EA as they investigate issue.
