Original Sims game

I recently stumbled across my "old", original The Sims game but it wasn't in the case, it was in another sims case, LIVIN' LARGE.  I have tried to install the game again but I needed the serial number.  The problem is, I don't have the original case and the computer I played the game on is loooonnggg gone!  Is there something you can do to help me??  PLEEEAASE???
