Origin/the sims 3 Error 12/13

It is my belief Origin /Sims 3 launcher is causing save problems and game crasing problems.

I am running the game on widows 8, quad core, 8GB RAM, 750GB memory. Game is updated to 1.67 and comperter is fully updated. Had no problems running this game for a while. Have several EP's installed. As my saves got larger I started getting error 12 and 13 and game started crashing. At this time I had the old version of origin. I was able to bypass the launcher and origin and run the game under admin. My saves were so much quicker and clean when I bypassed Origin and the launcher. No svaes that took forever, No error 12 or 13. There is no reason error 12 and 13 should exist. I have more than enough memory to run this game. It is my belief error 12 and 13 are caused by Origin and the launcher since they have such high disk usage and causing memory problems!

Someone then advised me I should update from windows 8 to 8.1, Big mistake. Long story short windows 8 and windows 8.1 are not compatable with each other. Windows 8.1 is not an update but a diffrent opperating system than windows 8. Windows 8.1 leaves no restore points and you have to contact microsoft to get a disk to do a full system restore back to windows 8. Microsoft explained to me they used certian video cards to work with windows 8 that will not work with windows 8.1 and visa versa.

I just did a full system restore, started doing a clean insatall of the sims 3 and now I have the new version of Origin. I can no longer run the game under admin or bypass the launcher and origin to playthis game. EA you need to bring back the old version of origin since it appears to me your launcher and origin might be causing memory and save problems!!

I tried and have no issues bypassing Origin and the launcher with the old version. I downloaded the old version with the old serial code and it work. It won't work with he new version but that has nothing to do with the version of Origin but only with the Sims 3 base game you're using.

Did you do a clean reinstall (cleaning out the registery) when you switch from new to old ?

Crin and Robert new computer is here and it is a little diffrent than 8. Need to get use to 8.1. What do I need to shut down to install the sims without interfearence. This computer also came with McAfee which I will remove should I remove before install, Mc Afee is activated automatically. They did not even ask me if I wanted it! Im getting rid of it anyway

Right out of the box 46 automatic updates and now errors in DxDiag in installing ipdates. Did call HP for help to fix. CS is clueless.

Gamming mouse update now conflicting with windows 8.1. I fix one error in my DxDiag a new one appears. Robert how are you getting 8.1 to not get any errors? I cant find fixes for some of these problems. I am not calling HP in India to help fix my problems since each time I get CS there most dont know what they are doing and my first computer got messed up. My computer out of teh box would not update, This morning some CS rep told me not to update some things told me it would ruin my computer. Did I listen to him no. Good thing I didn't since it took care of some issues in my DxDiag. If you have HP computer don't call HP support in India for help they will ruin your computer!

was on the phone with microsoft for 5 hours. Windows 8.1 has updating issues. We fixed that. Still have errors in my DxDiag with gaming mouse so I need to remove it. Did a clean install of the game with all security off. I used the old version of the sims base game download with new origin and I can bypass the launcher. My Launcher is messed up things grayed out just like every other install I did on windows 8. No way to tell if the patch is causing this or windows 8 and could be a video card issue too since card is new and not supported. Im on my old computer right now. I have to add security to new computer and get the game to accept my video card. Will update when I fix everything

Crin, Heard back from EA , I asked them to test what you said about old and new games prior and after 2012, bypassing the launcher and new and older vesions of Origin. They ignored my request and closed the case. I guess people who can't bypass the launcher and origin to play are on their own!
