I am having no problems playing my game either seamanq. I have Lion installed but fortunately have dual graphics cards so I can switch to the one that works. However, I set up this thread to help people so we could all work out, collectively, what the problems is. The problem has been identified but there is now growing frustration that EA are not responding. Whilst I appreciate you coming up with a work around, gloating about being able to play is only going to frustrate people more. But thank you for contributing :)
