So did they withdraw support for the graphics card as in it wouldn't work even if I downgraded to Snow Leopard? Or will none of the future EPs will work for Mac users even if we do that?
Why in the world would they sell games compatible for Macs if they were going to withdraw support for such a large amount of their Mac players?Noone knows. The profit still seems to be enough. Having some Mac customers is still better than having none. As long as the cost for porting it to Mac is lower than the expected revenue.
Oh, and another question... if I were to go try to get a new graphics card, a different one, for my Mac, would it possibly run the games on Lion?Only MacPro computers can have their graphic cards changed and only a limited number of cards can be used. And these would now all be newer than the ones posted in the system specs and thus be unsupported, too. Being unsupported doesn't necessarily mean that the game won't run. It's just that there's no guarantee that it will run.
What cards do the people have that currently can run the game on Lion without any "fixes"? (I know there's a list in the OP, but I'm pretty sure those are with fixes)It seems that all cards that have a dedicated memory can still run the game without "fixes" (although I don't know what you mean by that), i.e. nVidia cards with the GT in their name and most Radeon cards. GeForce 9400M and 320M are not dedicated GPUs, 9600M GT and 330 M GT are.
And also note, none of the GPUs in Macbooks, MacBookPros and iMacs are actually graphics cards. They are graphics processors firmly fastened onto the main board. That's why you cannot exchange them. Graphics *cards* are separate hardware units that are plugged into your computer like harddrives, RAM modules or WiFi cards and can be exchanged just like these.
