Patch 1.36.5

Question

Hi, I got a new computer with windows 8 on it and tried to put the Sims 3 and all the expansions on my new computer. However after I put the Sims 3 base game on it needed to update to 1.36.5 before I could add the expansions on but after that patch is installed and I try to open the laurncher an error message comes up saying "launcher couldn't start" please see log for details. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and I can play the base game, however when I install an expansion pack and try to run it I get a " disc authentication error" disc could not be read, please insert disc to continue. Is this a problem with the patch itself and if so, is there another patch on the way to fix this issue? If it is another technical issue any help to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Yes that is the Patch however every time I install it, the laurncher wont work. So how can I install the patch and have a working game?

Answer

Look at the first link I gave you - you can download the patches there and manually install them - therefore not having to go through the launcher. Try the super patch.
