I just thought of this, the problem could be with version of windows we are operating on. I just realize this is the first patch I upgraded to since I had upgraded to windows 8. Given that it is new the sims 3 is not quite compatible with it. also after I upgraded my windows my game starting freezing and lagging a lot lately, and buggy, these weird file kept appearing in my download folders, and installing in my game. I'm thinking maybe a file in my game might have gotten corrupted when I upgraded my cause I didn't uninstall the game. once I uninstalled them, and reinstalled my games it had patched up.
