Pink lines across edges of screen and resolution problems on 2020 M1 Macbook Air
Just recently bought my first Mac and downloaded The Sims 3 64bit from Origin. The new M1 chip included with it seems highly capable and while I can run The Sims 4 at high settings, 1440p locked at 60fps, Sims 3 seems to be a different story. I've checked around this forum to see if anyone else if having similar issues but i've struggled to find anything (other than everyone else here is crashing way more than I am).
It seems no matter what resolution I choose in the settings, the game has this weird 'camera focus' like distortion which makes text constantly blur ever so slightly in and out of focus. Also, UI seems to scale a bit too small on higher resolutions. At 2560x1600 I can barely discern the game's various UI elements.
As mentioned in the title, my game also has a pink line going across the bottom and right-side of the screen (follows through from the opening intro screen and right into gameplay). This annoying line also appears along the outline of the sim portrait in the UI of the game.
One more thing (not sure if this is a glitch in the game or with my Mac's firewall/security settings), but I can't seem to log in with my EA account while in game. It works fine in the launcher and of course in Origin too. Not too much of a problem personally as I rarely use the game's online features.
I understand there is a lot of ongoing issues with the 64bit port at the moment. My M1 chip Mac is running the game through Rosetta so I'm sure that'll create an entirely new layer of problems. Just figured I'd make this post on the off-chance some of these problems have known fixes or if there are others with these same problems. Thanks for any support anybody can provide!
