Please help me figure out why my GPU rating is so low given my high ratings
Hi there! It seems you got one of those pre-installed graphics cards.
The most interesting part here is that the latest 7000s are more powerful.
These 8000 ones are actually rebranded models of some older cards.
For example, my custom built gaming computer uses a Radeon HD 7870.
The PlayStation 4, coming out later this year, also uses an equivalent of that.
So, the actual successors to the 7000s will be 9000s rather than 8000s.

I'm really not that good with graphic cards but if you don't have any issues and your card is recognized, I wouldn't bother so much about that rating in that file. Too me, it all looks great.
If it does bother you, try asking at modthesims. They wrote that article and they probably know more what it means and why you're GPU RAM isn't higher.

The more memory your video card has the higher the resolution you can run. It also affects how the computer manages the frame buffer. Typically (not always) a video card (not an integrated video chip) will have dedicated high speed (faster then main memory) memory chips. The amount of memory needed is determined how the video device driver uses video memory. If the device driver is double frame buffering it will require twice the amount of frame buffer memory. Will more memory give better performance - probably not but it will allow higher resolution (if the video processor is fast enough) and will help prevent video distortion (like tearing).
There is much rebranding and model number games being played by graphics manufacturers. A higher model number does no always mean a more powerful chip. This is one item you really need to do your homework beore you buy.
