What would cause a PS3 to stop saving a game to the hdd. When I try to save The Sims 3 it says Saving to the HDD failed. I tried deleting the game and my files I can log in to my studio and the exchange but can't create a new game or play the old files (before i deleted them). There's no Error code just the pop-up that says saving to the HDD failed. I don't have this problem with ANY other game and I'm getting rather annoyed that I can't play as The Sims 3 has now become one of my favorite games. 😕mileyfrustrated: If SOMEONE could PLEASE respond to my posts that would be great. I have looked at several different pages and a bunch of the posts and none of them fits my problem... I would really appreciate some input. I have even asked several friends/relatives and none of them have an answer either.
I know that you had this problem like 3 years ago but I am having this problem all of a sudden. I was wondering if you ever figured out what was going on and if there was a fix for it.

Hi, I'm having the same problem and was wondering if you were able to resolve it? My issue started with my Sims suddenly going invisible while in Build/ Buy mode so I exited the game and when I reloaded my saves, they'd all been wiped! Had multiple saves and each one only gave me the option to create a Sim so I tried that and they were still invisible. I then deleted both my save and game data and started completely over but when I made it into the game, my Sims were invisible again... Makes no sense since I deleted all my Sims 3 game files. So my last effort was to try my husband's Sims disc and when I try to start a new game I'm getting the "Saving to the HDD has failed". It still lets me start a new game, create a Sim but when they're in game, once again they're invisible! All of my other games work fine and I have no idea what else to try.. really frustrating

@keenerachel If you haven't found a solution for the "HDD has failed to save" problem, I was able to resolve mine and since your post is recent thought I'd share.. After trying many things (see my previous post) not only did this fix my HDD problem but it also made my Sims stop being invisible. After deleting all of my Sims3 save and game data, I reinstalled the game, started it up and went to the start screen, then pulled the power plug from the back of my PS3 (like a power outage). Waited a few seconds then plugged the power cord back in and restarted the console.. It said that it was not turned off properly and must check the system files (something to that effect) so I pressed OK.. Said it may take a couple hours but mine took less than 5 minutes. If you wish, you could do it the "proper way" and do a hard restart instead but this does pretty much the same thing (restoring your files and checking for corrupt data). So once again I started the Sims game and this time I chose NOT to use the exchange (you can still create and save items to your studio, just can't download from the exchange).. In my previous game I had downloaded a lot from there and since we can't delete those items from the download list in "my studio", I believe that's where the corrupt data came from. So now I was able to start a new game, no more issues as of yet. Kinda sucks to lose everything I built but happy to get back in my game and btw, it runs much better.. Less lag. Hope this helps you or anyone else with this problem 🙂
