lets see if we can rescue your family go to edit town click on your sims house then move them out and save a copy of them to the libiary they will loose the friends and wishes they had but will keep their skills and items in the inventory... then you can try move them back into the house or start a new game and with your family that is saved to the libiary you can move them in
The only thing is in edit town mode my house is shown as empty with no sims living in it.
do you have a previous save of that game ? or the back up of it from when you last save you can then rename the backup folder of that saved game and see if the family show up if they do save them via the edit town go to your the sims 3 folder saves find your game whatever you named it make a copy of the backup file for example my sims save is SSV.sims3 the back up SSV.sims3.backup i copy the backup and rename it SSV1.sims3 launch it and if my sims are as they should be i then save the family

Thank you so much for trying to help I really appriciate it! But this is just getting to confusing for me, I'm going to have to make a new game and lose the corrupted one. Thank you again and hopefully this won't happen again.
