THIS IS UP TO SOUND DEVICE
From what I can make out, you only have a graphic chip in there and not a card. Those are not really made for gaming but I do think your computer should be able to handle just the base game and one EP.
Have you added the ts3w.exe to DEP ? I don't think that's the issue cause your crash is reproducable in CAS but it can't hurt.
Instructions can be found here: https://help.ea.com/article/dep-settings-for-sims-3-on-vista-and-windows-7

Followed the instructions, did them exactly, but same problem.

And you never actually played the game ? What happens if you take a premade sim and enter live mode (I don't think you've answered that).

Live mode is fine. I played it for about 15 minutes with a pre-made household. Lagged only slighty and only for a few seconds.

Sounds like something is corrupted in your CAS.
Since you only just started I take it you don't have any files you're attaced to.
- Close the game and launcher
- Got to docuements\ea\thesims3 and rename the whole folder to thesims3_backup or anything along these lines.
- Start the launcher and let it create a new folder
- Starte the game and check CAS again
If you do have any files you're attaced to, let me know.

No effect. Still lags out when I click on clothes.

If you use the premade Sim you tested earlier and use the dresser on him, does it bug out as well ?
Have you tried both male and female and different age groups to see if it's all the same ?
- ApprovedAnonymous13 years ago
I tried a different sex and age group and made it all the way to personality before my screen went black. This was just by creating a sim. Then I tried using my pre-made sim through the wardrobe and got to sleepwear before having to end the program.

At this point, I really don't know what else we could try. It does seem that something in clothing makes your game crash.
Maybe a clean reinstall will help (can't be sure if it does).
If you want to go down that road, make sure you remove everything Sims related from your computer, clean the registery with ccleaner (a tool you can get on the internet) and then install base game only. Try first on the upatched game and if it works, patch. If it still works, install LN.

Same result without being patched. Im investing in an Alienware computer anyway. Thanks for all your help!

Make sure you get a good graphic card, a 64 bit OS and 6-8 GB RAM (sims can't use more than 4).
Go with i5 or i7 and try to get a high ghz number.
