Problems to redeem The Sims 3 with Humble Bundle key

I've just purchased the Humble Bundle pack, but I can't successfully activate the Sims game.

First I've logged into Origin application and tried to redeem the code as I always do: by going to Origin > Product redeem code. However, when I typed the key, I got a message like "Sorry, but this code can't be redeemed from here. Redeem your code on the following website: http://www.thesims3.com".


So, I went to the website, and registered (using the same e-mail and password than my Origin account). I was asked to choose a "persona" and than continue (which I did). Than, following this guide from Humble Bundle's website, I went to My page > My account > Redeem a code. Than i chose "redeem a code (again) and typed the key and clicked on "Redeem". After that I got a message saying I had successfully redeemed the game. Once more following that guide, I went to Store > My store account > Purchase history. But it was EMPTY! ("You have not purchased any items.").

I tried refreshing my library on the Origin application, but nothing new come up either. So I went back to the Sims' site and tried to redeem the same key again, which obviously didn't work, and I got a message that the code had already been redeemed.

So, what do I do now? How do I activate my game and download it?

  • the 20-digit code I got from humble bundle seems to be broken or something. It allowed me to register for the SIms 3 community, I follow the next step to register the game and it tells me the code is invalid. I'm pretty much stuck on step 5.

  • Same problem for me.....

    Well....at least I got Mirror's Edge and Burnout for 10$ for my Steam.

    Same here. I can't  even log it on the web site. Tried 4 devices (PC, Laptop, iPad and phone) and 2 ISP and always recieved

  • I'm not even sure what a "Humble bundle key" is. I went to get the sims starter pack, put it into my computer and sims3.com just keep popping me back to the same thing. I put my email address in and it says I already have my email tied in with an account, so I tried 2 more of my email accounts and it says the same thing then I made up an email address and it says the same thing. I tried to redeem the 20 digit code that came with the game through origin but it says something about it cant redeem my code so I need to go to sims3.com. I noticed the issue has been going on since the 14th of this month!! this is CRAZY!! I'm taking my game back tomorrow and will NEVER invest in another game by E.A again!!

    Well, hopefully everyone gets their game installed in the end. The deal has ended now so there won't be any new ones :P
