[PS 3] Stuck at DLC and Update Installation Window

I have GameFly and recently picked up a copy of Sims 3 for Playstation 3 because I have no room on my computer for it. Anyways, I put the CD in and was prompted with installing the newest patch for the game (Version 1.02). It downloaded that without a hitch. But then I was prompted again with a screen that reads "Game Data is required to play The Sims 3 and will be installed now. Please do not turn off your system while data is being written." So I hit "OK" and waited as it installed, until it got to 100% on the top "Total Progress" bar. The problem is,, it won't get off that screen now even though it says it is 100% installed. I've waited long amounts of time thinking it just needed more time and it does not work. I've also tried deleting all the installed data and trying again, and also skipping installing Version 1.02 and going straight to the "DLC and Updates" installation prompt. Nothing has worked. This is very frustrating because I haven't even been to the menu screen for the game yet. Can someone help me figure out if it is the disk or me?

    I'm having the same problem and I've already tried deleting the game data utility and still it will not work. What else can I do 😕

    Honestly although this didn’t help my situation any it may be the case for some of you check and make sure you don’t have a parental lock on because this game is for a mature audience it might be the cause for some of us having an issue. Now that I got my parental lock turned off I will try deleting the game data utility. Btw if you don’t recall adding a parental control password it still may be on and the password will be 0000
