Re: Cant download from the store

@Lola38103  One possible problem is if your browser is set to block pop-ups, so either whitelist this site or use a different browser.  I always use Firefox (in both Windows and macOS) to download from the store, and it's usually fine.

Another potential issue is trying to download a large amount of content at once.  Worlds should be downloaded separately and one at a time; for everything else, the launcher is usually stable with around six items but not more.

@Lola38103  How to do so depends on your browser.  In Firefox, the setting is under Preferences > Privacy & Security > Permissions.  I usually get a little banner that says Firefox blocked something, which I can click on to allow the pop-up if I want.

@Lola38103  Try downloading into a new Windows admin user account on your laptop.  You can still sign into the store and Origin using your current EA account, but don't sync the new Windows account with anything else.  Please try downloading through Firefox.

If that doesn't help, can you try using a different wifi connection?  For example, you could use your phone as a mobile hotspot; make sure it's currently using data, not your home wifi.  Even if downloading everything through a different connection would be a hassle, it's still worth checking whether this works.

@puzzlezaddict I logged in in the launcher and I've been going through random things for a while and in the launcher, on the part where you can choose households to play, there's a little button with three dots. I clicked that and in that, there was an option that said "open downloads dashboard and it game me the option to download all my content. I dont really understand it, but I was able to get all my items! I really appreciate your help, thank you!

@Lola38103  The Downloads Dashboard is (usually) less reliable than the launcher, and harder to navigate, but it's a good backup solution when the launcher refuses to cooperate.  I'm glad to hear it worked for you.

I have tried everything listed on this page and nothing worked. I click on the download button, another page opens up with this

    "sims3://download/?ofbId=OFB-SIM3:68672&encryptedAuthToken=INbCdD6FAe0ND8AcYXJcXEVji3NGC4AnFh3CSWaxM2_WmXwAOSHPcnGFiQXWP9dFPFsvvQQLJfpSP57hWJwXp7cF8ET4L_bsXu0T_71xd3Bd64LrKpKS_UPePgwvD83zpj_C-bUQbRQ-dkB6Je3vsCwI9o738ndXQpNVU_ps-DzwXyqgMS2TTgKsqOeMnIf9"

in the heading tray. What's up with that?

@LoopyStuff  Does your computer run Windows or macOS?  What kind of install is this—Origin, disc, or Steam—and are you using the same account to download content as the one you used to install?  For example, if you installed from disc with a base game that's not registered in Origin, that kind of mismatch could block the content from installing.

Hi, thanks for replying so quickly. Um, I'm running Windows 7  from disk for the Sims 3. I'm glad you answer all the questions even if you don't work for EA. The Sims 3 disk is different from the one one I used when I made the purchases from The Store. My account is the same at EA.  I've already uninstalled my Sims 3 and all it's stuff and then installed it again. If you can't figure it out, that's okay...at least you tried.

@LoopyStuff  If you're using a product code to install via disc and that code isn't listed on your EA/Origin account, then your store content won't work.  Store items are encrypted so only the original purchaser can use them.  To this encryption, it looks like you're trying to install your store stuff to someone else's game, even though you're the owner of both, so this is actually working as intended.

You have two options here.  One is to register the disc's product code, that is if it hasn't already been used on a different account.  The other is to uninstall the disc version and install from Origin instead.  You'd need to remove the Sims 3-related registry entries first, or the game probably won't open at all.  You could use a tool like Revo Uninstaller or Piriform's CCleaner, or delete everything manually:

DUH! {slapping self on forehead} I totally forgot about the cd registration! I'm sure that's exactly the problem. You've been extremely helpful. Thank you so much. See? You really good at this.
