@DDNTV  When you buy content through Origin or the EA App, it should be automatically registered on the Sims 3 site as well.  So try signing into the site with your existing EA credentials and see whether the base game appears as owned.  Specifically, click My Page and scroll down a bit, then look on the left side of the screen.
