BTW I also had game disc authentication problems on my other cpu which was an Emachine (windows Vista) and also had freezing problems as well so this isn't a Mac problem only per se. I sometimes accidently would leave my Sims disc in my game when shutting down or starting my cpu, I remember a long time ago in computer class (in the 90's) that this was a no, no but I forgot why and I thought computers had come a long way since then.
