Re: Really Poor Sims 3 Performance, Seemingly Out of The Blue

I tried lowering the video settings but it didn't do anything. I have Nraas Overwatch and MasterControler, I tried reset everything and it didn't work I have had AA on low on my old machine and it ran fine, I could have AA on high on my new machine with all EPs and all my sims from the old machine, and it ran beautifully for a few weeks after I got it. I tired Vertical Sync and it gave me no change, I don't have triple buffering enabled either. I don't know what changed to make it run so badly, on some lots it runs at 20-30 FPS and it looks very shuddery. It's almost like my graphics card doesn't want to do a good job playing Sims. I have gotten the card checked twice and each time nothing was wrong. My old computer with a Nvidia 450 GTS and only a duo core processor does a better job running this game then my brand new machine, I only wish I could install ITF on my old machine when it comes out but the disk drive is borken and the wirless adapter is not working either. This is just so upsetting for me ☹️

I looked and it's not recognized, I tried to do what your site said but it didn't make a change. I could have done it wrong though. Wouldn't it always not have worked if this was the problem? It ran fine before, even with the card not recognized.  My old card is listed but not the 660 Ti. A great deal of the geforce cards listed have an M added on, I assume that means laptops?

Is it still not recognized or did it not make a difference ?

I'm not sure, I tried to do that thing but I saw no change. I'm not sure if I even did it right.

You need to add this line to your GraphicsCards.sgr

card 0x1183 "GeForce GTX 660 Ti"

The other file should be covered in my opinion.

I din't get around to trying today, I will probably try it tomorrow. If it works I will inform you.

Does it matter where under the Nvidia cards I add it? I just tried it today after removing all my store content and I didn't get a change so i'm going to try putting 0x1183 "GeForce GTX 660 Ti" into my GraphicsCards.sgr. I also started getting low FPS in SC2 late game so i'm going to run a stress test and see the results. 

It matters which file you put it in (just follow the instructions on this) but it doesn't matter where. I usually put it around other related cards.

Just tried it. The deviceinfo said found 1 matched 1 so i did it right. But the preformance is still choppy.

Same as before, If i leave the camera still my FPS gets high into the 100s but if I move the camera I get like low in the 30s or 20s.

I'm out of ideas.

Either post in the tech forum at thesims3.com (many helpful people there that maybe have better ideas) or the forum at modthesims (fan site with even more helpful people). 

Do link the thread here that people know what you've already tried.
