Re: Saved Games in folder, but not coming up in menu

when you renamed the game files you put whateversavename .sims3  the dot must be there  and made sure to remove the .sims3backup  if the second . is still there the game main menu won't read properly and make sure that somehow the save folder is not with in a save folder  go to your electronicarts/thesims3/saves open that if you see a save folder in there that could be your issue just move that to the desktop then back to your save folder open the one on the desktop then copy and paste your games to the one in the save folder

  • They are .sims3. I made a new game, saved it, it showed up again when i opened the application again. I can't for the life of me find the folders for it its not in my Electronic Arts folder and I can't find another, I don't think its acknowledging any of the information in that file.  But I can't find any replacement for it. Also there is no saved folder within any of the saved folders. ie: saves, savedsims.

you'll need a photbucket or image shack account (they are free )  upload your pictures to one of those then copy then copy  link here to your post saved names don't usually matter as i have some named  mytown the only thing a save will not save with is special characters like  / ? < *  but it usually gives a warning

  • I'm sorry I am confused as to what you want me to change currently the games I want to acess are in Documents>Electronic Arts> The Sims 3>Saves. There are two games that are currently not even showing up in this folder but are the only games I am able to acess in the game, I made them after this problem started for testing purposes.

in your image some of the files that should be in the saved game file are outside the saved game folder in my images (which posted  in reverse order for some reason )  my saved game is band.sims3 bottom image in the top image is the files that are in that saved game , so if you open your saved game  see if the files match up you should have the files in the saved game if for example your game file that is missing if the Meta.data file or the .nhd or both is not there your game won't play and you'll need to place that file back in there

    My work around:
Copy a working saved game to your desktop
Copy files out of save file that will not load
Delete files in the working save file folder while game is at the select a world screen
Paste copied files into the now empty working save file folder
    Load the working save file
Once you load the game save all important lots and families (Re-Saving under a different name will not work)
    Close game
    Restart sims3
    Load a new world
Place families and lots in new world
    Save game.
