I deleted the Sims 3 folder in my documents folder, the game created a new one just as it should, I started a new Game (still all settings turned the lowest possible) and yeah, unfortunately, after half an hour I got the same error message with the same error code. So for me, the game is not really playable like this. My EPs are Late Night, Ambitions and World Adventures and I still do not use CC or any mods or store contents. The error occurs no matter if I'm playing in live mode with a sim or in build/buy mode. The error often occurs directly after saving the game. Hopefully you'll find a solution since many other people report about this too.
But I also have to say this: THANK YOU! Thanks for your help, your kindness and thanks to the Sims team to make the 64 bit version for us mac users in the first place! Sims 3 for many people is the best Sims there will always be, so thanks! I mean, a game that crashes is better than a game that can't even run at all lol.
@simbuildsam Please attach your deviceconfig.log, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3. You'll neeed to manually open the folders; the file won't show up in a search. You can delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you.
Please also post a screenshot of the Sims 3 info in your Activity Monitor, as described here:
And I agree that Sims 3 is the best Sims game; for me it's not even close. Part of me holds out hope that Sims 5 will be good too, but I'm not overly optimistic.
