Re: Sims 3 crashing

Your computer is very borderline. Both the chip and CPU are below minimum specs and with only 2 GB of RAM and a 32 bit OS, I don't think this game runs with more than just unpached base game.

Did you have EPs before ? Also are you sure you removed every tiny bit of that prior version you had ? Those things can seriously mess up.

On top of that, bluescreens and complete shut downs usually point towards a hardware failure or overheating so maybe your laptop just has general issues ? I would get a program like coretemp to monitor the the temperature and run a hardware check.

  • Thanks for the answer! I checked if all the last version of the game was completely erased and it was. I even had World adventures before~ and it worked quite well. Plus I uninstalled Dota2 just for having more space for this. Erased Steam, Dota2, Arc and PWI xDD so I'm sure it has lots of space, memory or wtv... this didn't happen before.

Last night I was more than an hour waiting for an EA specialist on chat and no one never showed up.. I think I'm giving up.

That is illegal and certainly not a good idea to post on the dev's forum ...

Could be that the game worked with an WA if you just patched to this level but with LN and HELS, it might be just too much.

Have to lowered all settings and tried to play in windowed mode ? Can you check how much RAM the process ts3w.exe uses while you play ?

  • Just tried it and keeps crashing at the same point. Lowed the graphic options, windowed mode.

Now I can open the task manager and finish the process. No more blue screen and runs faster but still can't play. u.u

The RAM goes up to 1.69 Gb. ONly ts3w uses almost 700,000 Mb

If it only works with the base game, should I uninstall LN and HELS? u.u that would erase evething I created the first two sessions~ :c

Since you only have 2 GB of RAM into total, I assume your computer is running out of RAM.

I would try uninstalling Late Night and also update your graphics drivers. Also shut down any background programs you don't need and if you have custom content, remove that too.

  • It's working now!  I only uninstalled LN... It's a shame I can't use the expansion I bought but at least I can play and build my dream houses 🙂

Thanks for your time, your patience and for sharing your knowledge ^_~

    Great to hear.

Maybe when you get a better computer you can install it again 🙂

    Happy gaming.
