Re: Sims 3 keeps freezing on Mac

@millieee44  Please attach your deviceconfig.log to a post; it's in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3.  (You'll need to manually open the folders; the file won't show up in a search.)  You can delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you.

Please also list the expansions you've installed and the world(s) you're currently playing in.

The device config should be attached. The expansions I have installed are world adventures, showtime, ambitions, late night, generations, pets, seasons, university life and island paradise.

@millieee44  Try disabling Advanced Rendering, and if that doesn't help, turning down lighting to the minimum setting.  In both cases, make the change at the Main Menu and quit to desktop before loading a save.

Please also test a new save in Sunset Valley, for comparison's sake.  And let me know what world your current save takes place in—some of them, Isla Paradiso included, have problems independent of how well a computer can run the game overall.

That seems to have completely fixed the game, it now runs smoother than ever so than you!

The only other issue I seem to have is the spray terrain tool, I’m not sure if it’s a glitch and if there’s even a fix but if i try to spray it just doesn’t stick? Not only that but every single lot that has the spray terrain used seems to have changed to a black/brown colour instead of what it should be? For example i’m playing Isla paradiso and the sand is now all brown?

@millieee44  I'm glad to hear this worked.  For the terrain paint not sticking, it's unfortunately yet another known issue:

If you spray the terrain that's turned brown with a green paint (even though it doesn't appear to be sticking), then save, quit, and reload, does the ground look green again?  You can use "save as" to rename the save if you don't want your saves to be permanently affected.

It's also possible that this is a side-effect of disabling Advanced Rendering, as that does change how terrain is rendered.  I don't think it should all be brown though.  If applying a new terrain paint doesn't help, try using the eraser, again quitting and reloading to see the effects.  Going to Edit Town and back into live mode may or may not allow you to see the changes, so you can try that too if quitting and reloading gets too tiresome.
