Re: Sims 3 not launching on Windows 11

Now I'm just getting a popup that says "This application could not be started.  Do you want to view information about this issue?"  And when I click yes, it takes me to this page.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/application-not-started?version=(null)&processName=Sims3Launcher.exe&platform=0009&osver=6&isServer=0&shimver=4.0.30319.0

I already checked to see if I needed another update and my computer says I'm completely up do date.  And the Reliability Monitor doesn't even recognize I'm trying to open the program.

@Kagalei  Does that happen when you try to launch the game through the EA App, or when you press Play in the launcher?

At any rate, try manually uninstalling and reinstalling .NET Framework 3.5.  Click Windows key-R and enter "appwiz.cpl" without quotes, then click "Turn Windows features on or off."  .NET 3.5 will be near the top of the list.  Click the filled-in box to uninstall, then restart your computer.  Repeat the process, this time clicking the now-empty box to reinstall.  If the box is already empty, just click it to install and restart.

If that doesn't help, please post a screenshot of the error you're seeing.

Thank you for your help.   Sorry for not replying back for almost a week; the internet at my home is acting up.

@Kagalei  Don't worry about the late reply; I'm always here when people are ready to troubleshoot.

Is your game running now, or do you need more help?

It's working now.  Now I just have to get the rest of my content reloaded to my computer then I'll be ready to play.  Thank you again.
