@iiCozyAnja You have to sign out of onedrive. You can exclude the /documents/Electronic Arts folder if you use onedrive. What is happening is Windows is moving the game user data to the cloud and the game is looking for it in the default location which creates a game reset. Microsoft advertised unlimited cloud storage - Well they lied. I disabled onedrive from starting in the Windows task manager - startup tab. Sims 3 does not support cloud storage. BTW I'm Robert A and have been working in the computer industry before Bill Gates.

@roberta591 so i've researched into the onedrive problem even more, turns out i had to reinstall my game lol. so I'm doing that right now and I'm gonna test it out. I found this link: http://www.modthesims.info/archive/index.php?t-580833.html
I feel like a lot of people has this problem and I think it should be one of the sims 3 issues @crinrict
I will tell you if it did work.

@iiCozyAnja Basically that says the same thing I said - don't use onedrive and don't start onedrive at boot. The other thing the post talks about is moving the folder - all that is is a gui for symbolic link. These are techniques not for the casual Windows user. If you don't understand what is happening this could complicate future troubleshooting and other programs may not work correctly. Many people today have no idea how the operating system works. They turn on the computer and play games and have no idea how the magic works.

@crinrict here's the steps to fix it:
uninstall the sims 3 comepletely, including deleting the documents folder, or backup. deleting registries, and deleting your sims 3 folder in origin games.
disable, and unlink onedrive comepletely.
restart pc
install sims 3 again.
and BOOOM
IT WORKS!!!!!! YAY!
Thx for telling me about onedrive lol. I thought it was a win 10 and 8 thing lol.
