Re: Sims 3 won't launch - One drive deleting files - windows 11
@spaniels20 This error has nothing to do with .NET Framework 3.5. Rather, it's an issue with 12th-gen Intel (Alder Lake) processors that's been around since these came onto the market. The problem is that Sims 3 doesn't load properly on these CPUs, and the workaround is to limit the game to one core during the initial loading process. Please see this thread for more information, both the accepted solution on page one and the discussion of other approaches on page 5:
For the OneDrive issue, it's better to address that now rather than later, as in, before you have any Sims 3-related data to lose. If you don't have a particular use for OneDrive, I'd suggest unlinking it entirely:
If you do want it to sync some of your data, at the very least tell it not to sync the contents of Documents:
Please also make sure that your default Documents location is on your computer and not within OneDrive. You can see the location by opening a File Explorer window, right-clicking on Documents in the left panel, and selecting Properties > Location. If OneDrive is part of the file path, you can change the default location to Users\your username\Documents like this:
