Re: Sims 3 won't open: Alder Lake (Intel 12th-gen) CPU

Hello! I'm trying to launch Sims 3 via Origin/EA App (Tried both) both can launch the Launcher of the Sims 3 but once I press the "Play" button (Circle inside the launcher) it just loads and it doesn't get me in, no error on screen, no nothing. I updated my drivers, direct X and did almost everything on the forum so my only chance is for some of you to try to tell me what happens reading my DXDIAG. Tried with admin privileges, compatibility mode, checking drivers, Redistributable reinstall, Dx reinstall, nothign seems to work even limiting my CPU to 1.

My specs are like a i7 12th generation with a 3050 ti (Windows 11 Laptop).

The thing is once I press the play button it gets me back to the Origin app or EA App. Also I tried a copy of Sims 3 that it was from a disk so it's not an EA app or Origin, it's literally the game not lanching in this laptop (Which it clearly works on another laptops/pc) also, Sims 4 seems to work perfectly.

I also have .NET Framework enabled, etc. etc. etc.

Hope that someone can help me, I literally tried everything on the forums 🙂 Thank you!

@paulaasandra  Your dxdiag does show the error assocaited with 12th-gen Intel processors, but there's no way to tell whether these are from your most recent attempts to play or previous ones.  This is the error, in case you're curious:

    Nombre de evento: APPCRASH
    Respuesta: No disponible
    Identificador de archivo .cab: 0

    Firma del problema:
    P1: TS3.exe
    P2: 0.2.0.32
    P3: 568d4bac
    P4: TS3.exe
    P5: 0.2.0.32
    P6: 568d4bac
    P7: c0000094
    P8: 005511f2
    P9:
    P10:

The key here is c0000094 , the indicator of this exact error.  The first thing to do is find out if you're still seeing this error, so please launch the game one more time, then check the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time you tried to launch the game, and if you see one, right-click and select Show technical details.  The details will look a bit different than what's above, but you'd still see c0000094 in the info.  If you do, that means you haven't fixed the Alder Lake issue and need to try again; perhaps one of the other methods listed here will help:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Sims-3-won-t-open-Alder-Lake-Intel-12th-gen-CPU/m-p/11528168#M250997

Keep in mind you need to apply the workaround to TS3.ex, without the W.

If you see a different error, please copy the info and paste it into a reply here.  If you see no error at all, please check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.  And if you still can't find anything, let me know; that's useful information as well.

Thank you a lot for your time and dedication to people like me who can't play the game.

It's 100% the 12th generation thing, but is there a step by step or something easy or exactly whre I can get what I need to do, also what workaround you mena (TS3.exe one)?

    Thanks a lot.

@paulaasandra  In the post I linked before, I quoted Lazy Duchess's instructions for using the Alder Lake patch, and I linked instructions for the other two methods.  If you need more specifics than that, please let me know which method you're using and what step(s) you'd like help with.
