Re: Sims 3 won't open: Alder Lake (Intel 12th-gen) CPU

@Casswithgrass  I've moved your posts to the master thread for your specific issue, which is that Sims 3 isn't starting correctly on your processor.  Even though you don't have an Alder Lake CPU, your dxdiag confirms you're seeing the same error, and yours is one of a few other processors known to be affected.

At any rate, the workaround is to limit the game to one CPU core as it starts to load.  Please see the accepted solution on page one for more information.  And apply the workaround to TS3.exe, without the W, since you've installed through the EA App.

Please also undo the compatibility setting you've applied.  It's not necessary here.

    I'm having issues finding "The Sims 3\Game\Bin" and my program files. I'm not techy at all so this is very stressful
