No, I haven't tried to sent them becuase I was afraid that the game would crash. Back ups or not that's more frustration than I want. I'll give it a shot though...

Are those sims from exchange? 

Have the same problem. It started when my sim came home from University and ever since my sims can't talk to each other. When they are back at University they can talk and nothing's wrong, it's when they are back home that the problem shows up.

The OP probably has an outdated social mod and should update or remove all mods

@jolienshizzoo: Did your Sim graduate yet and does it happen to all your Sims ? Are you using mods ?
