Re: The Sims 3 is not launching anymore on EA Desktop App

@Ricarde_Official  You can try to play through the EA App again if you want; it's possible it'll work now.  Even if it doesn't, check back in a week or so: the App is constantly being updated, with older games getting more attention than they did previously.

As for the offer to buy games you already own, I don't know what else to say about it except that I've mentioned it on multiple occasions and hope that it gets addressed eventually.  But it's possible it's a low priority given that many players can't open their games at all.

@puzzlezaddict  So now, it shows me that I own the Starter Pack and EA Desktop App tells me to install the game again. I selected the game's path on the disc and now the “download” process is stuck on “Preparing”.

Edit: No, It's still not working. Now what if Origin will get shouted down? The Sims 3 will no longer be accessible?

@Ricarde_Official  Sims 3 works in the EA App most of the time; the question is why it doesn't work for you.  If you clear the EA App's cache:

and restart your computer, does Sims 3 show up in the list of installed games on the left side of the App window?  If so, can you press Play (hover over the name to see the button) and open the launcher?

Could you run the EA Error Reporter and post the report ID here as well so we can gather some data to see what's happening behind the scenes?

UPDATE: PROBLEM RESOLVED.  Sims 3 finally added to my Games List, after an overly long wait time.  Considering SPORE was transferred to my list when the EA APP was installed. 

THE SIMS 3 is now working as of last night. 3/17/2023.  See attached screenshot of Error 500, when 1st trying to launch on the 17th.

Fix?  I restarted the EA APP, and the game loaded like it does in the ORIGIN APP.  I can finally play my favorite all time game again.

i have something on how to get sims 3 on ea site game manager.  deleted sims 3 all of them off the computer. deleted ea manager. use regular sims 3 box download it. now game works itself. now to get it on ea. look on google for origin client on cnet download origin. now leave it to download ea will pop up to upgrade dont just yet. look bottom left. watch sims 3 download its upgrade twice. then it will say ready to play the sims. on the right bottom screen. now download sims 3.  only when it says it is ready to play . then download ea and it will uninslall the origin for the ea to go. it works. now download upgrade dlc. click them all off sims 3 manager. it starts the sims 3 game.

i will check adding the dlc to the game cause when you first put it on the dlc click on it freezes do it slowly for the game be back to let you know the rest later going to eat know happy simming who can get it to work

you can also play by itself the sims 3 only if you take off the ea manager just download the disk

slowly add dlc one at a time. i jut did nightlifewhen sims 3 game manager opens put it in the toolbar. that way it opens ea just a little and goes straight to the sims 3 manager when you are all done with downloading

it worked go slowly putting it on. do one load game. do it again and again

i hope it all works out .
