My Sims 3 also says incompatible. I am hopeful that this issue will be solved, as I would still like to be able to play the game.

    Right click on sims 3 icon. click open folder location. right click on ts3 file. click troubleshoot compatibility. choose windows 8 or some such. hope this helps.
