  • How far do you get? I have never even gotten to save my character. The game crashes like clockwork about 7 minutes from launch every time.
  • Are you getting any error messages - if so, please post it  It just says there was an issue and SIMS has to close. THen it prompts troubleshooting. It was previously telling me the game was incompatible after running troubleshooting, but since updating my graphics cards it is now unable to give me a reason.
  • What anti-virus are you running? Windows defender
  • Are you using the administrator account? yes
  • Have you tried the suggestions above (graphics card drivers, compatibility mode)? yes. I upgraded to Windows 10 at the beginning of this month, and downloaded SIMS for the first time ever yesterday. After troubleshooting endlessly, it still continues to crash within minutes. I have attempted the game at least 15 times.

Hi @theerikaleigh,

did you update to Win 10 or reinstall the operating system ? Is this the same computer you played Sims on already and did you ever have issues with it ? Are you continuing with an existing save game or did you start over ? Are you using custom content or mods in your game ?

    I updated to Windows 10 from 8.1. I did not play the Sims prior, I just downloaded it for the first time the other day and have yet to even be able to successfully save a character after about 15+ attempts. I do not have any saved games or data for the Sims. I have the 2 expansion packs that came with the game, but have not used them as I have not been able to run the game past creating a sim yet.

      What do you have your graphics settings on ? Did you try tuning them down ?
